Aceite de Achiote (Annatto Oil)

Yield

2 cups (serving size: 1 tablespoon)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups olive oil
  • 1/2 cup annatto (achiote seed)

Preparation

Combine the oil and seeds in a small saucepan, and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low; cook 5 minutes. Cool. Strain through a sieve into a bowl; discard seeds.
